Who we are
Private Tours London (private-tours.london) is an independent guide to London tours. For the purposes of UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the controller of the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at contact@private-tours.london.
What we don’t do
- We set no cookies of our own and use no local storage for tracking.
- We run no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts.
- We have no user accounts, sign-up forms or comment boxes.
- We don’t take bookings or payments, so we never see your name, card details or travel plans.
Our fonts and scripts are served from our own domain, not from third-party services.
What happens when you visit
Like any website, the server that delivers our pages receives technical information with each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser’s user-agent. Our hosting provider keeps these server logs for a short period for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use them to identify or profile visitors, and we don’t combine them with other data.
Tour photos on our pages are loaded directly from the booking platforms’ image servers. When your browser fetches those images, the platform receives the same kind of technical information (IP address, browser, the fact that an image was requested). We don’t control how they handle it; see their privacy policies below.
Partner links
Links marked as partner links — the “See on GetYourGuide/Headout/Tiqets” buttons — go directly to the platform, with affiliate parameters added to the URL. Those parameters tell the platform that the visit came from us, so they can pay us a commission if you book. They identify our site and campaign, not you. Our pages ask your browser to send only our site’s address as the referrer, not the page you were reading.
Once you’re on the platform’s site, its own cookies, tracking and privacy policy apply, including any cookie banner it shows you. GetYourGuide, Headout and Tiqets each link their privacy and cookie policies from the footer of their websites and apps.
If you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and, for corrections, to fix the page. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the site accurate. We keep correspondence for up to two years, then delete it, unless it’s needed for an ongoing issue. We don’t add you to any mailing list and don’t share your email with partners.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email contact@private-tours.london and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change how the site works in a way that affects privacy — for example, adding analytics — we’ll update this notice first and change the date at the top.
